Humans, Trees, and the Intimacy of Movement: An Encounter with Ecosomatic Practice
Published in the European Journal of Ecological Psychology, this essay brings somatic movement scores and ecological exploration into dialogue. It articulates the inner adventures of movement through wandering, lying, grounding and shaping as practice pathways for engaging with the more-than-human. Through improvisational encounters with trees, it explores how embodied perception can shift towards ecological reciprocity, where we are not only dancing with trees but also being danced by them.
How to Dance with the Forest: Sensing, Responding and Participating in a More-than-Human World
Combining practice-based artistic research with ecosomatic inquiry, this chapter interweaves movement, phenomenological reflection and poetic language as a methodology for embodied participation. A pathway is offered through which the environmental turn can become a lived, perceptual and shareable experience rather than a theoretical concept.
