Debarking – Ecosomatic Lament for a Dying Forest

A performative action unfolding as an ecosomatic lament, Debarking emerges from a forest marked by mass death, where thousands of pine trees stand as silent witnesses. Presented at El Cuerpo de Gaia Exhibition (2026), Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, the work engages embodied listening and ritual action to give voice to a shared ecological grief and to explore mourning as a passage within the cycle of life–death–life.
