Debarking – Ecosomatic Lament for a Dying Forest (Video Exhibition)
A performative action unfolding as an ecosomatic lament, Debarking emerges from a forest marked by mass death, where thousands of pine trees stand as silent witnesses. Presented at El Cuerpo de Gaia Exhibition (2026), Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, the video of the work engages embodied listening and ritual action to give voice to a shared ecological grief and to explore mourning as a passage within the cycle of life–death–life.

Tree Mourners: Ecosomatic Performative Actions for a Dying Forest
Tree Mourners is an ecosomatic performative project rooted in Southern Italian lament practices derived from ancient Greek moirología, engaging collective mourning as an embodied, emplaced response to forest loss, ecological crisis and the need for renewed human–more-than-human relations.
